If you or a loved one are struggling with thoughts of suicide, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

We have talked about change in past posts. The transition from summer to fall is my
favorite time of year. I love the “in-between” of warm days and chilly nights. Mother
Nature really puts on a show out here in western Oregon with the changing of the
leaves. It’s so beautiful! I rip out my raggedy summer flowers and put in giant mums. I
get to pull out the orange and clove candles. Sweater weather! I love it.

We are also starting to lose daylight. That can be hard for a lot of folks. It doesn’t hurt to
check in with yourself on the cusp of daylight savings time. Be mindful of your feelings
and habits. Time changes can impact sleep and mood. Try to get outside each day for
as long as the weather will allow. Maybe take a little time to outline a wellness plan as
we move into the darker months.

As always, check in with each other. September is ending, and with it, Suicide
Prevention Month. It was great seeing so much advocacy and awareness fostered
throughout the month. It’s so important that we normalize conversations around mental
wellness. It’s okay to not be okay. It’s okay to ask for help. But keep the conversation
beyond September. There’s a lot going on out there in the world right now. Take good
care of yourself and each other, and don’t forget to check-in.
